11 - Game of Two Halves

[Filtered away from people who've murdered since Slater's arrival (November)]

Right. Football. That game where you use your foot to move the ball about, not that American nonsense where your foot hardly touches the bleedin' thing. [How can you in good conscience even call it that, people, really?] Any one you lot know how to play?

[OOC: If you fear that you can't remember or it was under wraps for whatever reason, feel free to have Slater either forget/not know about it.]

Not really? Only the goalie's allowed touch the ball with 'is hands.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure I could remember that.

Excellent! I'm George Crabtree, by the way.

It's a pleasure Mr. Slater. What got you thinking of football?

[identity profile] thinkb4ublink.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Slater suppresses the urge to threaten him at the 'pleasure' comment and what stops him is just the fact that he's got nothing to threaten him with.] Warden's plan to get me talkin', I guess.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[But George really does think it's a pleasure.]

It's a very good subject. Though I prefer hockey myself.

Nor do I, but I follow our teams in the paper back home. Which is Canada, by the way. 1897.

[identity profile] thinkb4ublink.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[The new information is greeted with disinterest.] Hockey good back then?

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[George just thinks Slater is being a good listener.]

Terribly exciting. I think we have a shot against the Ottawa club for Lord Stanley's cup.

[identity profile] thinkb4ublink.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Still uninterested.] Brilliant.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Very much so! Perhaps we could get some sort of cup to compete at football for here. I'm sure the kitchens could spare one.

[identity profile] thinkb4ublink.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Tell you what, why don't ya talk to Loki about that? He's my warden. [Best case scenario, Loki is bewildered and annoyed. Worst, Slater is not. Win, win!]

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, I wouldn't feel right, sir. It's your game, and we haven't got to play for anything if you wouldn't like.

[identity profile] thinkb4ublink.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Like I said, it was 'is idea, maybe 'e would, you know?

[identity profile] thinkb4ublink.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I wouldn't like to speak for him.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I'd certainly like to play either way.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent. I'll be there.

...Where is there?

[identity profile] thinkb4ublink.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
That'd be the CES.
